With 25 years in the advertising and marketing business, Jenny is no stranger to creating

internationally recognized, award-winning advertising. She’s ranked one of the top creatives in Canada. She is the region’s most decorated creative person, winning hundreds of gold and platinum national and international awards and accolades throughout her career.

She’s the owner and President of Ray - an independent agency based in St. John’s, launched in 2013. Ray’s work swept the 2014 ICE Awards a year later, including beating out every other agency in Atlantic Canada to take home “Best of Show.” Soon after, Strategy’s 2015 Creative Report Card ranked at the top of the charts in Atlantic Canada, both as an agency and for Jenny.

She followed that success with awards for “Startup of the Year” (NLOWE) and ranked as a “Top 50 Startup in Canada” (Maclean’s). Jenny was a finalist at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards before being inducted into the Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame by Atlantic Business Magazine. In 2020, The Globe & Mail’s Report on Business named us one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies.

We started 2022 by receiving an ABM Readers’ Choice award for Best Marketing/ Advertising Firm. Locally, we won the coveted “Leader in Growth and Sales” in 2017 and 2019 at the St. John’s Board of Trade RBC Business Excellence Awards. And on International Women’s Day this year, The Message (Canadian industry publication) named Jenny one of ten Mighty Women in Canadian Advertising. Jenny has judged every regional and national award show in Canada (sometimes more than once). And has had the good fortune to judge international shows, including Cannes (2009 and 2018), LIA, Adrian Awards, Voice Arts Awards, One Show, and D&AD. In 2023, she will co-chair the Marketing Awards – Canada’s premiere ad show – the first woman in Atlantic Canada to do so.

Jenny loves to give back to where it all started - home. She sits on various boards,

including Artistic Fraud Theatre, Opera on the Avalon, Ever Green Recycling, and Genesis Client Success Committee. She is a fierce advocate for women in advertising and women in general. She lives with her husband, Steve, and their teenagers, James (18) and Mary (17). And, of course, last but certainly not least, Nacho Smith, her cat.

Jenny loves to hang out with family in her spare time, hike around the Newfoundland coastline, travel, throw giant parties, and garden. And she never turns down a classic vodka martini.
